I have been into BMWs since 1965 when Mill Valley Imports brought in the 1st of the e10s and then later the e9 coupes. I have had the 71' 2800 CS since 74' and have had 3 engine swaps from a moderately built M30.to an S46 and always wanted a V8...hence the 5.0 83' Ford that has sym dynoed at 515 hp at the crank with a T5 World Class BW trans. Should be a runner and maybe piss some purists off
I live in Atlanta, GA and have owned my 1974 3.0 CS for exactly 30 years. It was a daily driver for the first 10 years, then I searched around to find someone to restore it. I found someone incredibly meticulous (Mike Marcelic) and incredibly slow, so it took a few years to complete the process. I replaced the American bumpers with Euro style bumpers and put a 3.5L engine with a 5 speed overdrive; other than that, it's very original.
Have just taken on 2285467 RHD 3.0 CSL project - have correct shell, panels, motor etc, and many many bits to sort out. Will also be needing to source a lot of parts for the restoration!
